text_font_size_last_edited=&#8221;on|phone&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">Teen Court Program process<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"s1\"><\/span><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>A &lt;17 youth is caught for a delinquent act by Law Enforcement or School Officials<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"s1\"><\/span><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>A citation is issued, the youth and their parents) or guardian(s) must contact Municipal Court or the Juvenile Probation office to schedule an appearance<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">School officials or a parent\/guardian can refer directly to Teen Court Staff<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Municipal Court or the JPO office personnel can refer the cited youth to Teen Court if they admit guilt<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Referrals are processed by Teen Court Staff and the youth and parent\/guardian are contacted to schedule an intake<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The youth\/teen has 90 days from referral date to complete the process or they will be referred back to the referring Court, agency or school<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Intake paperwork is completed and a Teen Court session is assigned<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The youth is advised during intake to start community service hours prior to the court date<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">At court: Youth\/defendant and parent\/guardian meet with the defense attorney(s) before the court session<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">At court: Cited youth\/defendant and parent\/guardian participates in the designated Teen Court session<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">At court: Cited youth\/defendant and parent\/guardian accepts the sentencing requirements of jury duties, community service hours, classes, other suggestions from the jury<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The youth\/defendant attends future court sessions to complete the jury duty requirements<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The youth\/defendant completes required community service hours<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The youth\/defendant attends required classes and other sanctions<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The youth\/defendant and parent\/guardian complete weekly or monthly check-in meetings with the Teen Court Staff<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">On or before the 90-day period the youth\/defendant completes all requirements and is discharged from the program<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">If the youth\/defendant defaults at any point during the process, they will be referred back to the referring Court, agency or school<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\"><\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/rooseveltdwi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/5-I-believe-in-myself-and-my-abilities.png&#8221;
